In August of 2022, Montessori Collective's first partner classroom welcomed 15 three and four year old children at College View Elementary in southwest Denver, Colorado. Eighty-eight percent of College View students live in low-income households and 95% identify as students of color.

Liliana Celis, or Ms. Lily as her students call her, has been an early childhood teacher at College View since 2018, and brings a wealth of talents and experience to the classroom. She began her teaching career in Cali, Columbia where she was born and moved to Colorado in 2012, where she has been teaching in Denver Public Schools for the past 10 years. Through a scholarship provided by Montessori Collective, Lily attended training at Montessori Education Center of the Rockies during the summer of 2022, and she says that learning about the Montessori method has been "a magical journey." Lily and her classroom assistant, Berenice, are an unstoppable team, and they have created a beautiful Montessori environment where the children are thriving.

Montessori Collective will continue to support the classroom with ongoing coaching, and we can't wait to watch the children grow in their Montessori environment!
